Last week I shared a super simple routine for our summer months. In fact, it was so laid back I'm not even sure I can call it a routine! If you missed that you can find it here. In addition the smaller things I mentioned before, we've also made some bigger plans for the summer, … Continue reading Our Summer Plans: Part Two, The Bucket List

This summer's routine is mostly a plan for things I'd like to accomplish and do this season, it includes things like establishing a chore chart and going on some fun outings. Although I want our summer to be pretty free … Continue reading Our Summer Plans: Part One

Ever since I first saw the idea for bored jars (thank you, Pinterest), I've always wanted to do one. I finally got around to it last week, and thought I'd share what I included. You'll notice that these are all indoor-activities; my idea is to use these on bad-weather days throughout the summer, so I'm … Continue reading Activities for a Rainy Day

I read a lot though- blogs, parts of books about homeschooling, parts of books about education, I just didn't finish very many cover-cover. I read one book … Continue reading June Reads

Of all the toys we have, these marbles are the ones he plays with the most often. He sorts them by color, counts them, lines them up, puts them in stacking cups, and then smashes them all together and does it over again. I love that these simple marbles keep him happy and occupied for so long!
Iโ€™m trying to embrace where I live and find joy in eternal winter. At least itโ€™s pretty? At least the temperatures are more mild? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ But seriously, sometimes I wonder: why do we still live here?!
While reading our space book this morning my 5 year old asks: โ€œMom, what happens in the middle of a black hole? Where does everything go?โ€๐Ÿ˜ณ Love that curious little mind of his, but he sure keeps me on my toes!
Somebody in our house is a little bit obsessed with volcanoes. ๐ŸŒ‹ And saying heโ€™s a little obsessed is an understatement! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Porter lives and breathes volcanoes (and ninjas) all day long.
